Start Learning From Your Missed Opportunities
When You Screw Up, Learn From It.
Read Time: 2 mins.
You can tell from the title that we’re going to be talking about missed opportunities. If you don’t care to read about that please click here so I can send you to something I like on the internet.
Now that those few people who don’t care for this content are gone, we can talk privately about what to do about missed opportunities.
If you follow along regularly you might have remembered a post I did on #Hustle Culture and why it’s toxic about a month ago. It was received well it got a few social share on Twitter and Facebook. Compared to my other blog post it was a HIT! Lots of views, good avg. duration. Great post from a data and analytics standpoint.
This is where I screwed up
I’ve been trying to grow my newsletter (you can sign up by clicking here btw ?) and I had ZERO call outs to sign up for it on one of my best written and best performing blog articles.
I mean come on bro! How could I?!
Well pretty easily actually. This isn’t an excuse, more like a sad–sad–saaaaaaad explanation.
The reason I didn’t have any calls-to-actions to sign up for my newsletter is because my blog post weren’t getting big traffic numbers so I didn’t see it as a place to get newsletter signups (again, you can sign up by clicking here btw ??).
What’s really frustrating is that I’m constantly preaching to businesses about how you should position yourself as the business you want to be, not the one you currently are. So if I want to be a freelancer/content creator/newsletter builder, I SHOULD FREAKING ACT LIKE IT!
Learning From Your Mistakes (which is actually my mistake)
I once read a quote by some person that is probably much smarter than me or on some Instagram #inspo quote that
“Anyone can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in his error”
I forgot to invite all those amazing visitors to come and sign up for my newsletter (again, again, again – you can sign up by clicking here ?). This is NEVER going to happen again. In fact, if you didn’t click on my #Hustle culture article – go there now you will see that it now has a call to action to sign up!
Sign up For My Newsletter!
If you haven’t gotten the hint and you’ve made it to the bottom of this article, you should probably sign up for my newsletter. You can do that below.
I don’t do comments anymore.
I find it to be a waste of time to leave comments open. If you want to talk about this please hit me up on twitter. @ramoncreates.
